Prayers requested for Lama Dudjom Dorjee
After last Sunday's (Aug 30, 2009) program Lama Dudjom Dorjee became ill - it was believed at first to be a bad case of the flu, and his excellent family M.D. has been keeping careful watch and prescribing for our teacher.
Tacho, his wife, became more and more worried as the days went on and he seemed to not get much better. She called South India and asked for a 'Mo' - a Tibetan Divination - from the family's main Guru in South India, Bayou Rinpoche, a powerful teacher.
The result of the Mo was that Bayou Rinpoche said that Lama Dudjom Dorjee is experiencing powerful obstacles and that many prayers are needed.
It is a quite serious situation, unprecedented.
Tacho has called Tashi Jong (the home of Khamtrul Rinpoche) and asked for prayers, and will be calling other monasteries to fulfill the prayers that only the monasteries can do.
There are also prayers that we need to do and count.
All of us together, everywhere, 500,000 of the Guru Rinpoche 7-Line prayer, which is online here, and 50,000 recitations of the 21 Praises to Tara (Om Jetsunma).
Tacho said we need to keep count and report how many have been done so we will know when it is completed.
For people who do not know either of these prayers that were just mentioned, Tacho said to please recite and count the Green Tara Mantra - "Om Ta-re Tu-ta-re Ture So Ha."
